Jennifer’s area of expertise is Mathematics; she is an experienced educator with a great depth of knowledge of her subject. Academically, Jennifer gained an Honours Degree in Mathematics from the University of St Andrews, a Post Graduate Diploma of Education in Mathematics from Strathclyde University and has specialised in Supporting Bilingual Learners, TEFL, and supporting those with Additional Support Needs. She is currently a Lecturer of Mathematics in our Faculty of Building, Engineering and Energy and also acts as the Faculty Lead for the College’s Gender Action Plan. Jennifer is an innovative teacher with experience in strengthening cross-curricular developments in syllabi to improve understanding and progress.
She is an exceptionally passionate educator who promotes a positive student-subject experience within STEM learning. She is a member of the General Teaching Council of Scotland and a STEM Ambassador. Additionally, she is the founder of JenUp – a Mathematics Tuition service to improve SQA results in her local area by presenting herself as a much needed, positive role model and support to young females in the early stages of their STEM careers.
